The stone finials in Central Park
alone in the blur of people
might as well be the pyramids
the builders are gone.
II.
The big Apple store is right next to ABC
which is across the street from the Mormon Church
which is across the street from Julliard
which is across the street from Brooks Brothers –
it’s all one projection screen this reality
as far as the eye can see.
Everyone looks to the sky at 1:19.
I better go quick to unknowing.
III.
“Papyrus” is next to the poetry muse
winging her lyre through Rockefeller Center.
There’s no one even close but Mallarme
glistening too far away.
