Narrowing as the Water Widens

Reality brooks no description
still we persist
chasing rivers under bridges
with our sticks
we throw like stones to make the stream hold on -

but they are swallowed up by the water
as it leads us forward
to new impasses, different silences,
smaller things to learn.

Hey,though it is short, there is more stuff and purport to it than any of the longest poems can gain!
I found it really beautiful for its relation to life and how people realise that no matter how much you struggle, life goes on and in the end, without us realising, our sticks get swallowed by the river of time and we end up learning small new things in return...:)
Great piece there, btw I am your group member in Poetry United... Hope to read more of your works soon...:)

I've so enjoyed browsing on your blog today - this poem being my favourite - such a sense of nostalgia and yearning. Just beautiful.
