Surrender to the Mirror
Into love a fool surrenders – it's the same as God this love
In my gaze at God a mirror – it's the same as God this love
When I see, you say the meaning – when I don’t you see for me
Into love a fool surrenders – it's the same as God this love
There is music you are dancing – I can watch or dance with you
In my gaze at God a mirror – it's the same as God this love
When you see me you are silent – when you hear me you respond
Into love a fool surrenders – it's the same as God this love
On your skin the sea releases – through my touch the sun absorbs
In my gaze at God a mirror – it's the same as God this love
I will follow my own rhythm – you will strive to follow me
Into love a fool surrenders – it's the same as God this love
In our song a dream beginning – when we cry we learn again
In my gaze at God a mirror – it's the same as God this love
In the lily and jojoba – life is bloom as T and B
Each surrender to the mirror – it's the same as God this love
Evaporating Wine
In desolate dust was my fate: contemplating wine
A taste that the angels and saints can't sate: bring wine
Some say it is God that is found on the lips there
In sips lovers taste of the bliss in the waiting wine
The priests with the scents of the desert intoning
In chalices golden they pour consecrating wine
The light-headed dancers who wave through the date palms
They know of no answers except for inflating wine
The hermits who know what the holiest books mean
Won't say without taking their own explicating wine
The hustlers of God with their pitches to join them
Rely on the promise of some compensating wine
Some hold on to hard life until they get buried
In sand never knowing that from under grates springs wine
Is paradise up ahead outspread with bread bowls
Or lagging behind as we mine emanating wine?
We yearn for our home but we never remember
The only reminder the flush of negating wine
As B climbs the poetry tree vine to sing lines
A rise to the sky in evaporating wine
