What happened after Hank said "there is no past"

And so my life will never be the same
Three or five times every day
Enlightenment is achieved
And in a moment, done
Over and over again it goes on
Like I forgot the question I just asked the guru
Or what the butterfly looked like when it was a worm.

Last night is such a distant memory
Streaked with particles that haven't moved on yet
Instead of anything that offers assurances it really happened.
The meaning in every moment never left the moment
And what I brought to it was only all I was in that instant
Without a past, without a plan,
Just a game and cockeyed response
That became frozen in a river of thought
To glitter like a crystal
At some distant, unforeseen bend.
