Current Affairs

Were dissidents once starved to death of paper?
We've become encyclopedias
rotting on the vine
at all the world's injustice
a mirror to our own
our angers self-inflicted
our resistances like flowers
powerless
blooms of wished persuasion
bordering the edges of the property lines
to decorate with flattery those who rule
a plate embossed with the essence of their own virile beauty
