Shopping Cart in the Canal

Balance, and equilibrium by scheme,
Everything's perfection within the frame,
But how wide the aperture,
What to include.

Man is the animal of organization,
Creating relations, applying weights to each side of the scale,
Poising duality, as a call and response,
The same way we divide ourselves
Between instinct and thought,
One incessant, unmeasurable,
The other strict, diverting, concise...

There's more than can be seen, or known,
So the mind focuses out all it doesn't see or know,
And is left with a world like a baby to care for,
As something rude, demanding, but with us as the boss;

What is small enough for us
We are large enough for,
But we enlarge what we see by shrinking it to our size,
And moaning at its lack like an absent-minded king.

Cursed judgement, that makes us want more,
That keeps us from knowing all we see is all that should be.
